My Experience at SiftMy experience at Sift is drawing to an end and I can truly say that I loved it here. I met so many new people and learned so many new things. I also had lots of fun but learned how to balance work and play. Most of all, I think that I really would like to become a teacher now. At first I really didn’t want to be a teacher and y mom wanted me to go to broaden my horizons. But now that this experience is over, I am really interested in becoming a teacher. The career is so rewarding and even though it is very hard, I learned that it is extremely worth it. I learned that teachers have to have to work so hard. They have late nights and early mornings sometimes have to spend their hard owned money on a lesson plan. But the rewarding part is knowing that you’ve made a change in a student’s life when they actually understand something. Hey, my name is elicia, I attend Greater Hartford Classical Maget School and I am currently in a program called SIFT(Summer Institute for Future Teachers) to further my knowledge on the rewarding career.I want to be a teacher firstly because I love working with young kids. I also think teaching is a great field to go into because I think knowledge is one of the greatest gifts to give and once you have knowledge it sticks wih you for life.By participating in this program, I hope to learn alot more and get a jump start on the field i want to go into.
